Considering how hard it was raining this morning, we probably should have stayed home and built an ark. I'm not much of a builder though so we went to Target for a walk around instead. It ended up being a really fun trip! We ran into playgroup friends Gwen and Cole and preschool friend Emma. Katherine and Emma had so much fun running around together, looking at all the clothes and the characters in the panties.
Katherine amazes us with her smartness, even at Target. She grabbed this swan and baby and said "Look at the mommy swan and her little cygnet!". I'm pretty sure I didn't know that a baby swan was a cygnet at age three.
We took a walk through the gardening aisle and she grabbed these seeds and said "Mommy, can we get these zinnia seeds to plant?" WHAT!? We have no zinnias and have never had any, and I can't remember ever seeing zinnias in a book we've read together either. I asked how she knew those were zinnia seeds and she told me, "I just read it". Okay... Blown.away.
After our trip to Target, I took Einstein and her handsome sidekick to their kids gym for Open Tumble time. It is so nice to have those available for rainy days like this so the kids can run around and have fun (and sometimes even take long naps afterward!).

Daniel had Tumble Cubs gym class this morning, but first he had to do a little cooking in their kitchen. He really loves fake kitchens.
One of the highlights of gym class is bubbles, and Daniel decided it was a good idea to try to pop them with his face this time. Silly boy!
Katherine loves crafts as much as Daniel loves fake kitchens. Today's library storytime had a couple stories about ways to get different places. Her craft is a canoe, and she did a great job with the scissors to cut it out herself.
The kids had a little bonus time with Brendan this afternoon. He was able to leave work a little early so I could take a late afternoon doctor's appointment. One prescription for Patanol drops and a trip to CVS and my eyes are no longer fiery little orbs of itchiness. Ahhh...

Do you think Katherine is excited for picking up our Dorney Park season passes?!
Silly family!
After getting our passes at Dorney, we treated the kids to a trip to Ice Cream World across the street. Katherine has been wanting to try rainbow sherbet, so she was excited to see they had it there. Yummy!

We had a playdate this morning at Emma's house. All the kids played so nicely together, which made for a nice relaxing morning for us moms!
Daniel spotted a Dora book. He's always up for a good novel and loves Dora!
Little rascal is trying to figure out the cat door into the basement. He also discovered the dog door to outside but fortunately didn't try to crawl through it.
Truck toys and a dog. Happy Daniel.
Toddler Band! Katherine's on itty-bitty-guitar, Tucker is on xylophone, Brooke is on drums, Alex is on vocals, and Arthur is chewing the mic stand.

What a wonderful Easter we had! Katherine ran to the back door as soon as she woke up and discovered the carrots she left for the Easter Bunny were gone except for two little nibbles, so she was SURE he came to our house.
Running to their baskets to discover all the loot the Bunny left.
Katherine was very happy to see the Barbie Fairy Secret book she has been wanting.
The eggs filled with Littlest Pet Shop animals were a big hit.
Happy girl! Nice shopping, Easter Bunny.
Daniel was anxious to check out his basket too.
Trains? Score!
Nothing like starting your day being fed jelly beans at 7am.
Daniel got two new Cars cups, which he had to try out right away. We have never seen the movie and just now got the book, but somehow he can spot Lightning McQueen from a mile away!
After tearing through their baskets and having some breakfast, we headed to church. Katherine stayed with us until "children's time", and then went with Emily to "Wee Worship". Daniel went straight to the nursery and stayed there until I dropped Katherine off at Wee Worship and saw him bawling his sweet little eyes out in there. He did well for twenty minutes and then started crying and asking for us. I brought him back into the service with us and he was much happier - ate a snack, had a HUGE loud burp in the middle of the sermon, and then fell asleep on me. So sweet.
More egg hunting? Sure! After naps we went to Gram and Grandpa's house and just squeaked in another hunt before the rain came.
Oh boy, a YELLOW egg!
Such a fun day. Katherine must have really enjoyed church and been paying attention, because the next day she was ending a bunch of her sentences in "indeed"! :)

Rain, rain, go away! It was a soggy rainy morning here, not ideal for an Easter egg hunt at our church. They changed plans and did a very nice job of setting things up indoors instead. Daniel was poised to avenge his shutout in the earlier backyard egg hunt.
Katherine is lined up and ready to go!
And they're off!
This time Daniel actually picked up some eggs and started getting the hang of it a bit! He also wanted to stop, open each one, and examine the treats inside.
A few eggs into the hunt, they both plopped down in the hallway to evaluate their loot. Katherine was a great helper for Daniel and found a lot of eggs to put in his basket once she was done her own.
After everyone was done the egg hunt, we gathered back in the gym and emptied the eggs. Both kids ate two piece of candy and had a great time!
